William "Bill" Berger 77 of Fremont died Friday evening at his home. He was born on July 30, 1926 in Dayton to the late Allen Lefoy and Jeannette (Mitchell) Berger. Bill served in the U.S. Navy during WWII from 1944 to 1946 on a destroyer escorter ship on the east coast. On August 23, 1947, he married Marcella (Maisie) Overmyer at the former Evangelical United Brethren Church in Lindsey and she died January 21, 2003. He is survived by daughters Lucinda (Richard) Boggs and Carol (John) Riker; son, William D. (Patty) Berger; sisster, Margaret Berkley; seven grandchildren and one great-grancdhild. He is preceded in death by a son-in-law, Lamar Parker. Visitation was on Monday from 4-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services were held on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont.
