Ada Marge Corns, 89, of Gibsonburg died on Tuesday evening, December 9, 2008 at the University of Toledo Medical Center. Born on December 24, 1918 in Cassie, WV to parents Hobart and Veva (Wallace) Copley, she was a graduate of Wayne County High School in Wayne, WV. Marge married Ray E. Corns on December 23, 1939 in Kermit, WV. He preceded her in death in June 1991. She was a homemaker and worked at the Herbrand Company in Fremont making airplane parts during the war, Crown Rubber, Vogel Cake Decorating in Fremont and lastly as a secretary for the Gibsonburg tax commissioner. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Fremont and its womens bible study group which frequently met at her home.
Surviving are son, Jerome (Rose) Corns of Gibsonburg; grandchildren Jeffrey of Fremont, Joel of NC, Eric (Denise) of Pemberville, Jill (David) Gierke of Oregon, OH and Cheryl (Jeff) Sondergeld of Gibsonburg; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Kansas Joann Copley of Phelps, KY and Grace Hammond of Huntington, WV; and brothers, Lee Copley of Brighton, IL, Donald Copley of Columbus, and Luther Bud Copley of Louisa, KY.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Jackie, a great-grandson, four sisters, one brother, and two infant siblings.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 14, from 1-4 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, 2 p.m. with Rev. Don Jarabek officiating. Burial will be at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
Memorials honoring Ada may be made to the Church of Christ, 3361 W. State Street, Fremont or to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation.
