Maeola Rose Bex

Maeola R. Kilgus Bex, 87 of Gibsonburg, died Monday morning at her residence. She was born on July 17, 1918 in Gibsonburg to William and Rena Baker. Maeola was a 1936 graduate of Gibsonburg High School and had attended Cosmetology School. On January 30, 1937 she married Raymond Kilgus in Decatur, IN, he died on January 14, 1969. She then married Milton Bex, Jr. on May 4, 1974 in Michigan and he died on December 25, 1993. Maeola was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Gibsonburg.

Surviving is daughter, Sharon (Dennis) Fitzgerald of Gibsonburg; daughter in law, Judy Kilgus; grandchildren, Brian R. Fitzgerald of Houston, TX, Denise R. Hepperly of Gibsonburg, Ellen E. Smith of Travares, FL; great-grandchildren, Jackie Smith, Casey Smith and Emily Hepperly. Preceding Maeola in death are her parents, son, Jack Kilgus, both husbands, sisters Beulah Giesler, Rexa Toeppe, Gladys Perkins, Mabel Kille, Florence Blausey, Hazel Bible and grandson, Richard Kilgus.

Visitation will be on Friday from 3-7 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jerel Jackson officiating. Burial of the cremains will be Wednesday, November 30th at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
