Robert E. Crabtree, 76, of Hickory St., died at his home Thursday night. He was born in Portsmouth, OH to the late John and Sylvia (Curtis) Crabtree. He served in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman Second Class during WWII, and in the Marine Corp Reserve during the Korean Conflict. On Feb. 7, 1953, he married Donna Martin and she survives. Bob worked as a foreman at Atlas Industries, Gibsonburg from 1975 until his retirement in 1992. He was also a member of the First Church of Christ in Fremont. In addition to his wife of 50 years, he is survived by children: Karen Stainer and Vincent "Casey" Crabtree, both of Fremont, Sandra Nicklos of Columbus, Mike Crabtree of Mount Liberty, Vernon of Florida, and Robert of Liberty Township; sister, Patricia Kunkle of Logan; brothers, James of Pataskala, David "Joe" of Columbus, and Von of Logan; 12 grandchilden, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles, Samuel and George; sisters, Margaret Sherman, Daisy Jones, Alice Day and Esther Frazier. Burial was at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont.
