Arden D. Craun, 79, of Burgoon, died early Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at his home. He was born on January 4, 1932 in Bettsville to Francis and Chloe (Myers) Craun. Arden graduated from Bettsville High School and later enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict. On March 22, 1952 he married Patricia A. Janovich in Fremont, and she survives. After retiring in 1997 as a truck mechanic he became a model train enthusiast. His children and grandchildren were a great source of joy to him.
Surviving along with his wife are children, James Craun of Gaithersburg, MD, Connie Craun of Powell, OH, Christine Halvorson of Boulder, CO, Cheryl Kosmetatos of Cummings, GA, and Cathy Craun of Findlay, OH; siblings, Chester Craun of Burgoon, and F. Edward Craun of Largo FL; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Carolyn Jane Craun; grandson, Craig Bates; and siblings, Irene Semer, Leroy, Betty Serfozo, and Olive Mauk.
A prayer offering at 10 a.m. will be held on Friday, August 5th, 2011 at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg prior to departing for burial at Smith Cemetery outside Burgoon. Pastor Fritz Merkes will officiate.
