Haldon J. Haldie Black, 72 of Fremont, died on Tuesday, February 17, 2009 at Memorial Hospital, Fremont. He was born on December 16, 1936 to John F. and Ione (Binkley) Black in Fremont. Haldon was a 1956 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and attended the University of Wisconsin. He was a heavy equipment operator for Mosser Construction where he also worked as a carpenter. Haldon was the former owner of Rainbow Lounge from 1981 to 1994. On April 24, 1965, he married Diane Grubb in Fremont and she survives. Haldon was a member of Grace Community Church, the Carpenters Union in Fremont and Ducks Unlimited. He was an avid duck hunter & fisherman and enjoyed woodworking, camping & loved traveling.
Surviving are sons, Christopher Lee (Carla) and Chad A. (Rhonda), both of Fremont; grandchildren, Devin, Alyssa, MaKinsey, Kelvin, Aidan and Ashton; brothers, Charles (Judith) of Fairfield, OH, Jay Black and Kim Black, both of Fremont and Richard of Flatrock, OH. He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bert & John.
Visitation will be on Thursday, February 19, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be on Friday at 11a.m. at Grace Community Church with one hour of visitation at church prior to the services. Pastor Kevin Pinkerton will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grace Community Church Benevolence Fund or to the Bearing Precious Seed Ministries c/o Fremont Baptist Temple.
