Sally Blackburn, 73, of Fremont died on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Valley View Health Care Center. She was born on April 6, 1938 in Fremont to Carl and Mary (Blue) Riehl. Sally was a 1956 graduate of St. Joseph High School. She married Rondall Blackburn at St. Ann Church in 1956 and he survives. Sally was a member of Sacred Heart Church, the Rosary Altar Society and Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament. She was an avid hunter and bird enthusiast. Sally worked for the Board of Elections for many years and served on Sacred Heart Churchs Finance Board. She worked a variety of jobs, but her favorites were being a successful Avon Representative, an employee for Fremont Savings and most of all being a homemaker.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are children, Joanne (Tom) Streacker of Findlay, Robert (Benita) Blackburn of Clyde and Janice Blackburn (Susan Smith) of Winter Springs, FL; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, her mother, Mary Riehl and a sister, Barbara (Gary) Ohms of Fremont. She is preceded in death by her father, Carl Riehl, a daughter Kathleen, and siblings, Patrick Riehl and Larry Riehl.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Ken Lill officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Center, St. Vincent de Paul or Sacred Heart Church in Sallys memory.
