Arlene P. Blechinger

October 16, 1927 — July 31, 2011

Arlene P. (Dusty) Blechinger, 83, of Fremont, passed quietly away on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Bethesda Care Center. She was born on October 16, 1927 in Columbus,OH. The daughter of Dr. August Henry and Martha (Wesin) Dahlstrom. She was raised in Tiffin, OH and attended Heidleberg College. Arlene married Bernard J. Blechinger on April 24, 1948, and he preceded her in death on April 19, 2011. Dusty worked for the News Messenger and also for Dr. Gerald Dorsky as an optical assistant for many years. She was loved by family and many friends. Arlene is survived by her children, William (Kim) of Highland, IL, Bernie (Christy) of Woodville and Linda (Les) Lundberg of Fremont. She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Erica (Jaime), Hasselbach, Ryan Blechinger, Angela Blechinger (Travis Ross), Jon Blechinger, Lenna (Adam) Gill and Cara (Cody) Maenle. She especially enjoyed her visits with her great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jaret Hasselbach, August, Anderson and Lydia Gill. She is also survived by brothers and sisters in law: Loren and Marianne Blechinger and Jim and Dorothy Quaintance of Fremont as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bernard.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fremont. Funeral services will be on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Michael Zacharias officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bethesda Care Center or Hospice of Memorial Hospital in Arlenes memory.
