Celia G. Bocanegra, 80, of Gibsonburg died Friday evening at her home. She was born in San Benito, TX to Refugio and Juana (Hernandez) Guerra. On Aug. 9, 1943, she married Daniel G. Bocanegra in Brownsville, TX and he survives in Gibsonburg. A resident of Gibsonburg since 1951, Celia worked as a custodian for Bowling Green State University, retiring in 1988, and was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, the Guadalupe Society and she loved cooking. Surviving are children, Santos (Virginia) Bocanegra of Fremont, Gilbert Bocanegra of Gibsonburg, Olga (Lester) Miller of Gibsonburg and Lucia (Michael) Claxton of Kelso, WA; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Santos Gilberto (Maria Elena) Guerro of Houston, TX; along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her parents, son, Juan Daniel, brother, Santos Guerra, and grandson, Santos Chato Bocanegra Jr. Visitation: 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Rosary service: 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michaels Catholic Church with Father Ted Miller officiating. Burial: St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery
