Carol Ann Damschroder, 52 of Gibsonburg, died early Thursday morning at her home after a short battle with cancer. She was born on April 20, 1954 in Perrysburg to Herbert and Doris (Schroeder) Linker. At the age of 9 Carol was adopted by Richard and Barbara (Mitchell) Marsh. Carol was a 1973 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. On November 1, 1975, she married Douglas Doug Damschroder at the Church of Nazarene in Gibsonburg and he survives. Carol was a devoted employee at Reino Linen Service for 19 years; she enjoyed gardening, traveling, doing crafts, and drawing. She had a love & desire of discovering and learning new things. Carol also loved her grandchildren dearly. Surviving along with her husband, is a son, Kevin (Amy) Damschroder of Gibsonburg; daughter, DeAnn (Ryan) English of El Segundo, CA; grandsons, Logan & Nate Damschroder; siblings, Joanne (Greg) Garreau, Dave(Nancy) Albert, Diane (John) Smith, Gary (Marilisa) Ayers, Roy Parman, Rich (Kim) Parman, Dee (Jeff) Hamilton, Sue Zienta, Christine (Brian) Cook, Susan Linker, Eric Linker (Brian DuCharme); stepbrothers, Jerry (Gloria) Marsh, Don (Bobbie) Marsh, Ron (Judy) Marsh, Jim (Tammy) Marsh; and sister-in-laws Ellen Tille and Diane (Pete) Portell both of Gibsonburg. She is preceded in death by her father, adoptive father and brother, Mike Albert. Visitation will be held on Sunday from 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with James Menkhoff officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
