Jack Lee Boedecker

Jack Lee Boedecker, 78, of Gibsonburg, died on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 at Stein Hospice in Sandusky. 

He was born on January 16, 1931 in Toledo to John K. and Helen (Jones) Boedecker. Jack was a 1949 graduate of Lima Central High School an served in the Marine Corp during the Korean Conflict between 1951 and 1953. On April 7, 1956 he married Beverly Plowright at Trinity United Methodist Church in Gibsonburg and she survives. Jack was a lineman for Toledo Edison for 37 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Department, the Gibsonburg Masonic Lodge, the VFW, the American Legion, Eagles and the Moose. He enjoyed camping and being a Boy Scout Leader, traveling, flying, fishing and boaking. Hack was a loveing husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, sons, Douglas (Elizabeth) Boedecker and Jack Boedecker, both of Lindsey; and daughter, Julie (Michael) Rudinoff of Gibsonburg. Also surviving are grandchildren, Alexzandra Rudinoff, Andrea and John Boedecker.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold; and sister, Gladys Keller.

Visitation will be on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg from 2-8 p.m. with Masonic Services at 7:30 p.m. followed by Fire Department Services.Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 10 :30 a.m. Pastor Fritz Merkes will officiate. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery where military services will be held by the American Legion, Gibsonburg. 

Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Stein Hospice, the Kidney Foundation, the American Heart Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.
