Carmella Borders, 84 of Fremont died early Saturday, February 2, 2008 at Bethesda Care Center, Fremont. She was born on August 9, 1923 in Eckman, WV to the now deceased Rocco & Concetta (Janlin) Scoleri. Carmella graduated from Norfolk High School in Norfolk WV and on June 6, 1945 she married James Richard Borders in West Virginia and he preceded her in death on February 25, 1996. Carmella worked for Rite Aid Drug Store as a clerk retiring in 1993. She was a member of the Moose Lodge, and attended St. Marys Catholic Church, Millersville. Carmella enjoyed gardening and loved to cook. Surviving are her daughters; Camille Kistler of Tiffin, Valerie (Dale) Drenning of Martin and Lana Redding of Fremont, 6 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren along with a sister; Tracy Lay of Beckley, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers; Samuel, Phillip and Joseph Scoleri and a great-grandson; Jacob Baumgartner. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont from 4-8 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at St. Marys Catholic Church, Millersville at 10:30 AM with Fr. Ted Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital or to the Alzheimers Association.
