Richard Davis, age 82, of Fremont died Tuesday afternoon, November 14 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky, OH. He was born on March 10, 1924 in Findlay to Albert G. & Helen M. (Reis) Davis. Richard attended Fostoria High School and just recently received his diploma. On December 29, 1944 he married Naomi Fry in Risingsun, and she survives. Richard was a member of the American Legion and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He also enjoyed coaching knothole baseball especially the Whites Plumbers, fishing and deer hunting with his sons. Richard was a painting contractor and drove school bus for Fremont City Schools. He served in the US Army from 1943-1944. Surviving are his sons; Doug & Linda Davis of Oak Harbor, Al Davis & Jed Davis both of Fremont and Bobby & Peggy Davis of Clyde, along with 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Richard is also survived by a sister; Lucille Stevens of St. Louis, MO, half-sisters; Ruth Colvin, Maxine Gibson, Shirley Robbin all of Fostoria and Viola Altwater of Forest, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents and three half bothers and one half-sister. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2006 from 4-8 PM at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fremont. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 17, 2006 at the funeral home at 10:30 AM with Rev. Paul A. Burmingham officiating. Burial will follow at Roose Cemetery, Oak Harbor with military rites performed by the American Legion and the VFW.
