Charles Lee Bowie was born December 26, 1938 in Leeds, AL to Lillie Lee Bell and Joseph Bowie. He attended elementary and high school in Leeds. Charles excelled both academically and athletically. He played football, basketball and baseball in high school. After high school, Charles came north to attend Toledo University in the ROTC program. He served his country in the Army and spent a year in Germany. When his tour in the Army was completed, Charles settled in Fremont, OH. He worked several jobs before deciding to start his own company. That company, Pro Construction later became Alpha Omega Construction Company, a name it still holds today. Charles received his spiritual education from the Mount Calvary Baptist Church. He imparted this spiritual knowledge to others in his capicity as the Superintendent of the Sunday school. Charles enjoyed golfing, bowling and sporting classic hats. But most importantly, he enjoyed being with his family. Surviving are sons, Charles B. Tiller, John T. Price and Brad Ferguson; step-daughters, Roxanne and Robyn Price; sisters, Bernice Johnson, Billie Parks, Lillie May McKinstry, and Dorothy Dumas; brothers, W.C.Bowie and Robert Bowie; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded by his parents, brothers, Frank and Joseph Jr.
