Marie A. Deatherage

Marie A. Deatherage, 97, formerly of Bethany Place,North Street, died Dec. 29, 2004 at Parkview Care Center. She was born in Milford, Iowa, to William H. and Lilly (Johns) Nattress. On Oct. 6, 1928, she married Charles W. Deatherage in Sioux City, Iowa, and he preceded her in 1997. Mrs. Deatherage worked in various department stores in Webster City and Clinton, Iowa, and also was a housemother at Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Clinton, Iowa, then transferred to Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church, Surviving are children, Robert of Richfield, Mn., Geraldine (George) Aldrich, Fremont, Michael of Decatur, IL.; seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and on great-great grandchild; one brother and one sister. She is preceded by her parents, husband, infant daughter, Anna Belle Marie, son, John Leslie at age 18 and six brothers and sisters. Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church with Associate Pastor Denise Turpin officiating. Memorials: In lieu of flowers to the donors choice.
