Mario G. DiFonso, 78 of Gibsonburg died Friday morning in Orchard Villa, Oregon. He was born in New Kensington, PA to the late Biajo & Anna (Florindi) DiFonso. Mario attended Pittsburgh Diesel Automotive School and also served in the US Navy during WWII. On August 25, 1945 he married Christina Mancinotti in New Kensington at Mt. St. Peters Catholic Church and she survives in Gibsonburg. Mario worked for Libbey Owens Ford for 32 years as a glass worker, retiring in 1989. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Welker Smith American Legion and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. Surviving are daughters Joan (Dan) Reino of Franklin, TN, Christene DiFonso of Gibsonburg, Paula (Patrick) Seitz and Judy (Jerry) Dawdle both of Albuquerque, NM, Maria (Robert) Brubaker of Burgoon, Susan (David) Bragg of Gibsonburg and Nancy (Steve) Jones of Fremont. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a sister, Teresa (Mike) Bonk of New Kensington, PA. Mario was preceded by a granddaughter, Angie Bragg and a sister, Pauline Duffy. Visitation: 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Burial Mass: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Fr. Ted Miller officiating. Burial at St. Lawrence Cemetery with military rites provided by the Gibsonburg American Legion and VFW. Memorials: to the donor's choice or the family.
