Harry L. Elliott

Harry L. Elliott, 93, formerly of 2595 Sandusky CR 170, Fremont died Nov. 30 at Bethesda Care Center in Fremont. Harry was born in Whiteford, MI., to John J. and Mary L. (Ford) Elliott. On April 25, 1931 he married Joan B. Gerber at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Toledo. She died June 20, 2003. He graduated from Jesup M. Scott High School, Toledo. Harry served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Asian Pacific-India. He was issued the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and World War II Victory Medal. Harry was the manager of the original Lane Drug Company in West Toledo, a division Manager at Sears Roebuck, Toledo, and later drove a school bus for the Fremont School System until his retirement at age 70. He was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church, Gibsonburg, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. He was preceded by his parents, wife and siblings, John Ray Elliott, Harold Elliott, Orlie Elliott, Edna Shutt, Marvel Chappealear and Bessie Sharkey. Many nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, great-great nephews and great-great nieces who survive him loved Harry. Visitation: None Services: Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michaels Catholic Church with the Rev. Ted Miller officiating. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont at a later date. Memorials: To Bethesda Care Center or St. Michaels Church. Arrangements: Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont.
