Florence I. (Scherley) Evans, 83, formerly of Green Springs, OH went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 28, 2010 in Tucson, AZ.
She was born May 4, 1926 to Charles and Celestine (Hahl) Scherley.
Florence was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. "Flossy" was a beautiful, kind and wise woman who loved to play rummy and bingo. On October 5, 1944, she married Kenneth Evans; he preceded her in death on August 5, 1983. She worked many years in the family business as well as Nickles Bakery and the Foothills Mall.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas Evans of Green Springs, John Evans of Tucson, AZ; and daughter, Marla (Evans) Bemis of Tucson, AZ; she is survived by eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren; her siblings, sister, Sister Mary Charles of Tiffin, Margaret Williams of Sandusky, and Bernadette Hahler of Republic also survive her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; and son, Ronald; as well as siblings, Helen Russett, Rose Meggitt, Mary Laub, Leonard Scherley, Lucille Rhoad, Arthur Scherley and Edwin Scherley.
Visitation will be held May 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. with Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Francis Home Chapel, 182 St. Francis Ave., Tiffin, OH. Services will be officiated by Father Patrick Rohen, Captain, U.S. Army (Retired).
