Willis L. Fick, 85 of Fremont, died at his residence on March 11, 2009. He was born on October 8, 1923 in Fremont to Paul A. and Martha Valentine (Waggoner) Fick. Willis was a 1941 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1943-1946 during WWII. On July 31, 1948 he married Phyllis Nadein Joost at Trinity Lutheran Church in Elmore, OH and she preceded him in death on April 16, 1995. Willis worked at the Great Lakes Sugar Company, was a deputy Sheriff for Sandusky County, a Court Bailiff at the Fremont Courthouse and a Probation Officer. Willis also served as Comissioner on the Sandusky County Veteran Board. He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and the American Legion. Willis enjoyed watching sports and eating out.
Surviving is his son, William Fick and a brother, Paul A. (Dorothy) both of Fremont. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister, Mary E. Holland.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 16 at 11 a.m. at Oakwood Cemetery with military rites provided by the Fremont American Legion and VFW. Pastor Robert Quillen will officiate.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donors choice in Willis memory.
