Fremont resident Dorothea (Becker) Fiebiger, 93, formerly of Bethany Place, died early Sunday morning, December 13, 2009 at Valley View Healthcare Center in Fremont. She was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 18, 1916 to the now deceased Isaac Newton and Helen (Embree) Becker. She graduated from Steele High School and later worked as a legal secretary in both Dayton and in Fremont. Dorothea married Ralph Fiebiger in 1947, and he preceded her in death on March 26, 1990.
Mrs. Fiebiger was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church; she acted as its financial secretary for sixteen years and served on many committees, and was a member of Womens Trinity Guild and the Crusaders Sunday school class. She was a past secretary of Womens Federation and had worked in the secretarys office of the Sandusky County Fair.
Dorothea enjoyed her home and reading. She loved to travel and had visited all fifty of the United States and also Puerto Rico, England, Scotland, and Canada.
Family members who survive include daughters, Judith Fiebiger of Tiffin, Ohio and Debora (Kent) Golden of Gilbert, Arizona; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph; daughter, Peggy Clawson; and sisters, Sara (Richard) Olinger of Sun City, Arizona and Esther (Don) Hasse of Tipp City, Ohio.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2009 starting at10:30 a.m. funeral services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fremont with Pastor Randall Haase officiating. Interment will be in Dayton Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church in Dorotheas memory.
