Harriet Fork

Harriet C. Fork, 84, of Gibsonburg, died on Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the emergency room of Memorial Hospital, Fremont. She was born on February 23, 1924 to the now deceased Charles D. and Florence (Cook) Gabel in her great-grandfathers rural Rice Township farm house. On December 22, 1943, she married Ernie Robert Fork and he survives. Mrs. Fork graduated from Gibsonburg High School, class of 1942. She worked as hostess and night manager of the Genoa Turnpike Plaza and was head office clerk for F. W. Woolworth from 1961 until 1967, the year her daughter died. Later she went back to work for Fremont Savings Bank until early 1970, then for the Ohio Dept. of Unemployment office. She retired in 1986. Harriet was also known for her hobby of collecting & selling antiques and collectibles. She loved to tend her garden and watch the birds.

Surviving in addition to her husband, are son, Randy (Sheryl) Fork of Perrysburg, daughter, Joanne (Nelson) Busdeker of Pemberville; grandchildren, Ronda (Kimmet) Reed, Jodi (Busdeker) Stewart, Jason Busdeker, Lindsay Fork, Amber (Fork) Aossey, Stacy Fork; great-grandchildren, Samantha Stewart, Amanda Reed, John Stewart Jr., Ava Picken. Preceding her in death are her parents, daughters Roxanne K. Fork and Donna J. Kimmet, grandson, Michael Kimmet; infant granddaughters, Kay Ann and Ruth Busdeker; brothers, Francis, Bernard and John R. Gabel.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 1, 2008 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Gibsonburg with Rev. Don Mueller officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Michael Youth Education Classes, the Gibsonburg Volunteer Fire Department or to the donors choice in Harriets memory.
