Kenneth Louis Fork, 86 of Gibsonburg, died Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Wood County Hospital. He was born on November 5, 1920 in Gibsonburg to the now deceased Louis H. and Nettie C. (Solman) Fork. Kenneth was a 1938 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. On November 9, 1953, he married Shirley Plowright in Bryan, OH and she survives. He served in the Army Air Corp as a Sergeant in Guam with the 315th Bombardment Wing and was a life-long farmer, retiring in 1982. He also worked for the Ohio Lime Company for 32 years. Kenneth was a pilot for 56 years and had his own air strip on his farm. He loved to fly in his spare time and flew to many air shows including the EEA air show in Osh Kosh, Wisconsin. His 1940 Fairchild was his pride and joy. In the 1940s & 50s he also raced motorcycles and stock cars. He was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association and a former member of the Portage Valley Flying Club. Mr. Fork was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Surviving in addition to his wife; children, Virginia (Greg) Roessner of Gibsonburg, Lorraine (Jamal) Jamali of Tempe, AZ, Kathy (Robert) Vallejo of Gibsonburg, Sara (James) Waggoner of Lindsey; grandsons, Brian & Brad Roessner, Neema Jamali, Kenny & Kyle Waggoner; brothers, Raymond (Hilda) Fork, Ralph (Lucille) Fork and Ernie (Harriet) Fork all of Gibsonburg. He is preceded in death by his parents, and 2 sisters, Hazel Pinter and Irene Price. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 21st from 1-7 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be held at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church on Monday at 10:30 a.m. with visitation at church one hour prior the service. Pastor Robert Wietelmann will officiate. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery with Military Rites by the Gibsonburg American Legion. Memorial donations may be made to the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, the American Diabetes Association or the Northwest Ohio Kidney Foundation in Kenneths memory.
