Raymond H. Fork, 91 of Gibsonburg, died early Thursday, April 3, 2008 at St. Charles Hospital, Oregon. He was born on October 12, 1916 in Gibsonburg to the now deceased Louis and Nettie (Solman) Fork. Raymond was a graduate of Gibsonburg High School. He served in the Army Air Corp during WWII and the Air Force during the Korean War retiring as a Major. He was a 44 year Government employee, lifetime farmer, and thresherman. On May 6, 1943 he married Hilda Ohm in Topeka, KS and she survives. Raymond was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg. He was a collector of antique farm and steam equipment and a 30 year exhibitor to the Sandusky County Fair. Raymond was a life member of the American Legion, VFW, and National Threshers Association. He was a licensed steam engineer, private pilot, and a graduate of Casey Jones School of Aeronautics. Also surviving are children, Tanya (Craig) Bell of Perrysburg and Steve (Deb) Fork of Pemberville; grandchildren, Nick, Andrea and Daniel Bell; brothers, Ralph (Lucille) and Ernie (Harriet) Fork. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth; sisters, Hazel Pinter and Irene Price. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 6th from 3-8p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home, Gibsonburg.
Services will be held on Monday at 12:30 p.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church, Gibsonburg with Pastor Blair Miller officiating. There will be 1 hour of visitation prior to the services. Burial will be at West Union Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or to the Donors Choice in Raymonds memory.
