Frederick O. Gangwer, 73, of Burgoon, died on Monday, July 7th at his residence. He was born on April 18, 1935 in Kansas, OH to the now deceased Chaunce and Laura (Drake) Gangwer. On June 15, 1954 he married Lola Michaels in Decatur, IN and she survives. Frederick was a farmer and the Transportation Supervisor for Lakota Schools. He was a member of the Burgoon United Methodist Church, Lakota Young Farmers, and played Dartball at church. Surviving are his children, Louise (Bill) Linke of Woodville, Linda Havens of Fremont, Cathey (john) Harpster of Burgoon, Beth Cooksey of AZ, Sharon (Jeff) Mathias of Helena and Robert (Christy) Gangwer of Kansas, OH; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; siblings, Helen Buehning of Risingsun, OH, Kate Engler of Golfview, CO, Sara Wildman of Findlay, Trudy Gangwer of Fremont and Bill of Risingsun. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert and sister, Gladine Goon. Visitation will be on Friday, July 11th from 4-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with one hour of visitation prior. Pastor Chuck Albright will officiate. Burial will be at Burgoon-Smith Cemetery. Memorials may be to the Burgoon United Methodist Church or Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
