Emma M. Gassner, 93, passed away at her grandsons home, her former Fremont home of over 50 years on North Columbus Avenue, early Saturday morning, May 23. Emma was born to Gustave and Anna (Keefer) Krawetzke on June 7, 1915 in Fremont, OH.
She worked at the Howard Zink Corporation until her marriage to Richard E. Gassner on July 30, 1945. He preceded her in death on August 10, 2005.
Emma loved sharing Bible truths with others and was an active member of the Fremont Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses since December 1, 1953.
She enjoyed traveling, her home and cooking, but most of all her time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Emma is survived by her son, James (Judy) Gassner and daughter, Diane (Philip) Bork all of Fremont. She is survived by five grandchildren, Barbara (Patrick) Ray of Toledo, Michael Gassner of Toledo, Jordan (Christina) Bork of Fremont, Ryan (Nina) Gassner of Toledo and Ashley Bork of Bowling Green. Nine great grandchildren also survive.
In addition to Richard, her husband of over 60 years, she is preceded in death by her brother George Krawetzke, sisters Clara Betty Newell and Leona Young, and half brother, Alfred Krawetzke.
There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, May 30th , 1:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 1509 Cedar Street, Fremont. Dennis Bork will officiate.
Memorial contributions in Emmas name may be made to the local Fremont Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses.
