Paul W. Gerwin, 71 of Gibsonburg, died on Sunday, December 11, 2005 at Toledo Hospital. He was born on May 30, 1934 in Gibsonburg to Charles and Laura (Schroeder) Gerwin. Paul was a 1952 graduate of Woodville High School, and on August 22, 1959 he married Lois Richter at Zion Lutheran Church in Gibsonburg, and she survives. Paul owned and operated Gerwin Dairy Farms, where he was a dairy farmer until he retired in 1998. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and was active on Church Council. Paul was past president of the Gibsonburg Farmers Elevator Board, a member of Milk Marketing Incorporated, and won the Farmer of the year award in 1983 by the Soil Conservation of Sandusky County. Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Gerwin of Stony Ridge; two sons, Fred (Tammy) and Duane Dewey (Diane) Gerwin, both of Gibsonburg; one sister, Clara Heineman, Woodville; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandchildren, Sister Irene Titkemeier, two brothers, Harold and Herbert Gerwin, and an infant sister. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, where his body will lie in state one hour prior to the service, with Rev. Blair Miller officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery. Memorials may be made to: Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, or Luther Home of Mercy.
