Mary G. Aunt Mary Gillow, 78, of White Ave., Fremont, died on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Valley View Care Center. She was born on May 6, 1933 in Woodville Township to Leo & Eda (Bauer) Foos. She was the 11th of 13 children. Mary graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1951. She was the payroll clerk for the Howard Zink Co. for 52 years until her retirement. On June 6, 1953, she married William Bill Gillow at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Gibsonburg and he preceded her in death on October 16, 2006. Mary enjoyed gardening, music, her many loyal dogs, shopping and convertibles.
She is survived by sister-in-law, Betty (LaMar) Redding of Fremont; sisters, Clara Bess (Paul) Harshman of Tiffin, Georgia (Harley) Pertner of Gibsonburg, Ursula Jane (Loren) Nowak of Elmore, and Edie (Lloyd) Munson of Fort Laramie, WY; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Jim (Margaret) Spangler; brothers, John (Rose), James (Florence) and Charles Foos; sisters, Agnes (Sid) Holland, Emma Rose (Harold) Reinbolt, Patricia (Bill) Ward, Rita (Bob) Schlea, and Madonna (Richard) Mathews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 6-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services with a rosary said that evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Anns Catholic Church with one hour of visitation at church prior to the service. Rev. Thomas Extejt will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or the Sandusky County Humane Society in Marys memory.
