William Bill J. Gillow, 74, of Fremont, died early Monday morning at Bethesda Care Center. He was born on July 13, 1932 to the now deceased Ervin and Eva (Schuck) Gillow. A 1950 graduate of Ross High School in Fremont, Bill worked as a grinder for Crescent Manufacturing for over 30 years, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed listening to music and record collecting, doing yardwork and belonged to the Sheriffs Association and to the AAA.
Bill is survive by his wife Mary Foos, whom he married at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Gibsonburg on June 6, 1953. Also surviving is his sister Betty Redding of Fremont, niece Sue (Jim) Feighner of Fremont, and nephews John (Deb) Nicholas of Fremont, Tom (Karla) Spangler and Rick (Wendy) Spangler all of Oak Harbor and Dave (Sue) Spangler of Portland, Oregon. Bill is preceded in death by his brother, Jim Spangler.
Funeral services will be Thursday, October 19, 10:30 a.m., at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Fremont. Certified Celebrant Maureen Pump will officiate. Family and friends will be welcomed at the funeral home on Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
Burial will be a Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont.
