Maxine Gnepper

July 10, 1918 — July 6, 2011

Maxine Gnepper, 92, formerly of Hessville, and most recently of Elmwood Assisted Living in Fremont, died on Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at Elmwood at the Springs. She was born on July 10, 1918 in Lafayette, OH to Willard G. and Iva Grace (Heath) Heffner. Maxine was a 1937 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. On November 12, 1938 she married Howard John Gnepper and he preceded her in death on November 27, 1992. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Gibsonburg and its United Methodist Women and the Friendly Neighbors Extension Club of Washington Township.

Surviving are her daughter, Kay Ann (Kenneth) Waggoner and son, Ray Howard Butch (Priscilla) Gnepper all of Fremont; grandchildren Matthew John (Leslie) Gnepper, Leigh Ann (Douglas) Nason and Melanie Rae (Eric) Steinberger; great-grandchildren Tyler, Cambree, Shelby and Sienna; and brother Wayne Pete (Norma) Heffner of Gibsonburg.

Maxine is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and siblings, Creta Goetz, Margaret Krotzer, Glen Heffner and Doris Wohlmuth.

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 10, from 1-3 & 5-7 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, July 11 beginning at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Betty Wineland officiating. Burial will follow at West Union Cemetery.

Contributions in Maxines memory may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital or to the Faith United Methodist Church.
