Manuel V. Gutierrez, 80, of Front Street died Sunday morning, at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Morelos, Zacatecas, Mexico to Calixto and Maria Ine (Villaneda) Gutierrez. On June 1, 1950, he married Maria Romero in Mexico and she survives. Mr. Gutierrez was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, was a former farm worker and also worked at the Pioneer Sugar Plant in Fremont. Also surviving are children: Manuel (Juanita), Marco A. (Mara), Ismael (Alma) and Gilberto (Mona) Gutierrez, Anita (Frank) Cortez, Bobbie (Mohamed) Rezal and Reyna Yanet, all of Fremont, Francisca (Jeronimo) Lara and Samuel (Bertha) Gutierrez, both of Plant City, FL and Maria (Javier) Chavez of Bryan, TX; 33 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren. He is preceded by his parents, children - Margarita, Cruz, Francisco, Jose, Jesus Samuel and sister, Josefina.
