On May 24th, 2005 at sunset, the world lost an incredible source of inspiration, James Hagerty. He was many things, a quick-witted comedian, a compassionate listener, and a devoted brother, but always a true friend. Jims presence in this world will forever remain immeasurable. This James Dean/ Judy Garland admiring Fremont native experienced many roles in this life, including actor, singer, and dancer, and along the way he met many famous people, but to his friends and family he was the real STAR. He was also very proud of his educational achievements including his Medical Assistant Degree. He is fondly remembered for his significant contributions to all his patients before his career was cut short by a devastating stroke. Jim never dwelled on his infirmities but continued to befriend and entertain us everyday with his delightful presence. Jim was an avid collector of movies and music, as well as a seasoned cinema critic, but he most cherished his Wizard of Oz memorabilia. Let us remember Jim as he is received into heaven as, There is No Place Like Home. James Hagerty 66, of 305 Biddwell Ave. died at Bethesda nursing home. His two sisters Joan, Jane and friend Gary Davis and son Gary along with friends Raymond Raymond, Janice Kestor, and Theresa Moninee were in attendance at the time of death. Jim was born in Fremont and was the son of now deceased Donnis "Rowe" Wareham and Russell Hagerty. Surviving are sisters Jane Ridley of Fremont, Janice Woitha of Warren, Michigan, Joan Menkhoff of Fremont and Judy Zipay of Florida. There will be no visitation due to cremation. A funeral celebration will be held at St. Joseph Church on Saturday June 4th, 2005 at 10:00 AM. Cremated remains will be interred at St. Joseph Cemetery following the service. Arrangements were handled by Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont.
