Marvel "Sid" Rose Hampsher

September 8, 1922 — March 19, 2007

Marvel Sid Rose Hampsher, 84 of Fremont, died late Monday, March 19 at Bethesda Care Center. She was born on September 8, 1922 in Gibsonburg to the now deceased Bert and Nora (Saam) Crispen. Marvel was a 1940 graduate of Gibsonburg High School. On January 22, 1946 she married Bill Hampsher in Fremont and he survives. Marvel was a loving mother and homemaker. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Women of the Moose, and the Old Betsey Ramblers Travel Club. Sid and her husband loved spending the winter in Florida for the past 25 years and she enjoyed camping and fishing. Surviving are children, Vickie (Galen) Schlipf of Port Clinton, Nancy (Jack) Whipple and Monica (Kevin) Minnich both of Fremont; siblings, Naomi Ward, Fremont, Roy Whitey Crispen of Gibsonburg, Marvin Baldy Crispen of Lindsay, Brenda Hostottle of Bradner, Wilma (Peg) Scott of Bowling Green; 7 grandchildren, Brian Schlipf, Jarrod (Shannon) Schlipf, Brad Schlipf, Jamie (Laura) Whipple, Doug (Jamie) Whipple, Michelle (Sean) Tyler, Rachael (Jon) Shockley; 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Harold and Howard Crispen.

Visitation will be on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. with the family present from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont.

Services will be held on Friday, March 23 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Quillen officiating. Burial will follow at McGormley Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Marvels name may be made to St. Johns Lutheran Church, Hospice of Memorial Hospital or Bethesda Care Center.
