Gerald L. Hartshorn, 62, of Clyde died early Saturday morning at his residence. He was born on January 25, 1943 to Edward and Alma (Hall) Hartshorn in Lewisburg, Ohio. Gerald graduated from Monroe High School in 1961 and attended Terra Tech. He was an electrician, and a Non-production Purchaser for Whirlpool until 1988. On July 6, 1962 he married Sandy Short in Eldorado, Ohio. Gerald was a member of First Brethren Church, Fremont, Sandusky Co. Multiple Sclerosis Society, Sunday School Superintendent and Teacher and was an A.S.A. Softball Umpire for 23 years. Surviving Gerald are his wife, one daughter Tonya (Wayne) Weiker; two sons Kevin Leroy (Jill) and Bryan Edward (Lori) Hartshorn all of Clyde; 8 grandchildren & 1 great-grandchild; one brother Gary L. (Cindy) Hartshorn, Fremont and one sister Karen Marlene (Gary) Coffman of New Paris, Oh; special friends; Patti & Jerry Wassom of Warner Robins, GA. Preceding him in death are two half sisters Mary E. (Hunt) Fetzer and Phyllis J. Hartshorn. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be on Wednesday, February 16, at 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ed Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the Wales Corners Cemetery, Clyde. Memorial donations may be made to the First Brethren Church or the Sandusky Co. Multiple Sclerosis Society.
