Harry Herman

Harry Sonny Herman, 77, formerly of Gibsonburg, died Saturday, January 21, 2006 at Helen Ellis Memorial Hospital in Tarpon Springs, FL. He was born on November 16, 1928 to Harry J. and Rosella B. (Foos) Herman in Toledo, Ohio. On May 30, 1952 he married Marilyn A. Neidermier and she died on Sept. 29, 2003. Sonny was a former member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Gibsonburg. He was a Navy veteran and a member of the Florida Garden Railway Club. Sonny owned and operated Hermans IGA until retiring and moving to Florida in 1983. He loved to travel and enjoyed eating out. His hobby was collecting model trains.

Surviving is daughter, Debra (Ron) Blanchette; grandchildren, Sean Blanchette, Kevin Blanchette, and Teri Wood; two sisters, JoAnn Ruggiero and Kate Buck both of Gibsonburg.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Marilyn and brother, Charles.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Fred Schill and Rev. Don Mueller officiating. Burial will follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the donors choice.
