Garry S. Heselton

October 24, 1947 — March 13, 2010

Fremont resident Garry Stephen Heselton, age 62, died under hospice care early Saturday morning, March 13, 2010 at the Countryside Continuing Care Center in Fremont. He was born on October 24, 1947 in Fremont to Stephen Heselton and Helen (Vincent) Petersen. Garry was an Army Veteran battling in Vietnam serving with the Big Red One. He was a self-employed cabinet maker by trade and he also worked on projects for COSI in Columbus. He retired in 1998. Garry was a member of the Moose and the Eagles. He enjoyed people and fellowship, hunting, fishing and spending time on his computer.

Surviving are his mother of Fremont; children, Melissa Heselton of Fremont, Michelle (Kelley) Spaulding and Stephen Flaherty all of Florida; grandchildren, Caryn Spaulding and Dominic Patrick; siblings, Valerie (Dave) Ross of Fremont, Sherry Yarborogh of Fremont, DaLeen (Doug) Markel of Gibsonburg, Dana (Tim) Coonrod of Fremont and David (Kathy) Petersen of Fremont; thirteen nieces and nephews; fifteen great-nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew. He is preceded in death by his father, step-father, Dale Petersen and granddaughter, Andraya Celia Spaulding.

Memorial services will be held at Grace Community Church on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 11 a.m. with one hour of visitation at church prior to the service. Pastor Tim Wisehart will officiate. Committal services with military rites by the American Legion and VFW Posts will be held at McGormley Cemetery at 2 p.m.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont.
