Beatrice 'Lucille' Hetrick, 96, of Lindsey died Monday at Golden Living Center-Bayside, Poquoson, Virginia. She was born in McClure, Ohio to the now deceased Harl and Chloe (Tonjes) Wilcox. Lucille married Bob L. Hetrick (deceased) on August 17, 1940, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Parsonage in Rice Township. She graduated from Bowling Green State University with a degree in elementary education. Her first teaching position was a one-room school house in Jackson Burgoon. She also taught one year at the Washington Twp. School, Lindsey. Lucille taught thirty-nine years as a first grade teacher for the Woodville Public Schools. She was one of the Outstanding Elementary Teachers of America in 1973. Lucille was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, past member and secretary of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Buckaroos Farm Bureau Council since 1942, and was an advisor to the Lindsey Booster's 4-H club for 20 years. She loved reading, gardening, crossword puzzles, bird watching, traveling, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are daughters, Daun (Ray) Nagan of Quaker Hill, Conn., and Delores (Bob) Kuth of Yorktown, Va.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by sisters Helen Shively and Delores Gilfilen.
Visitation will be on Friday, December 10, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with Pastor Bob Young officiating. There will be one hour of visitation (9:30 - 10:30 a.m.) at church prior to the services. Burial will follow at Faith Lutheran Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers - Donations to may be made in Lucilles memory to: Autism Speaks, Multiple Sclerosis Research or to the Faith Lutheran Church Youth Group.
