Dorothy H. Hetrick, 96 of Fremont, died Sunday evening at Countryside Continuing Care Center, Fremont. She was born on January 11, 1910 in Millersville, OH to the now-deceased Michael and Anna (Nieset) Hughes. Dorothy was a 1927 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and a 1932 graduate of Specerian School of Commerce in Cleveland, Ohio. On July 12, 1933 she married Edwin Hetrick in Toledo, OH and he died in August 1975. Dorothy was a secretary and accountant for several businesses in Fremont. She was an active member of the Women of the Moose, the Eagles Womens Auxiliary, the Democratic Party of Sandusky County, a member of the West Harbor Yacht Club and an avid bowler. Dorothy was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. Surviving are sons, Michael (Judy) Hetrick of Fremont and Patrick Hetrick of San Rafael, CA; two grandchildren, Shannon (Mike) Reardon and Brandi (Randy) Wammes both of Fremont; six great-grandchildren, Brant, Brennan, Brianna Reardon, Miranda, Madelyn and Marissa Wammes. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son William and son Edwin Hetrick; daughter in-law, Ann Kerins-Hetrick; 3 brothers Frank, Clarence & Raymond Hughes; 5 sisters, Florence Gabel, Lucille Hershberger, Imelda Ryan, Eulalia Hughes and Loretto Russell.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. A Rosary Service will be held in the evening. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Gerald Ceranowski officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital, St. Anns Church, SJCC or the American Cancer Society.
