Garnetta L. Hetrick

August 27, 1917 — July 13, 2008

Garnetta L. Hetrick, 90, of Fremont, died Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Valley View Health Care Center. She was born on August 27, 1917 in Tymochtee, OH to the now deceased Thurman and Marietta (Swerlein) Sours. Garnetta was a 1935 graduate of Old Fort High School. On October 15, 1941 she married Milton Hetrick in Lindsey and he survives. Garnetta was a skilled seamstress and did many alterations at Josephs Dept. Store for ten years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Fremont and was involved with the Women of the Church, a Sunday School Teacher and served on various committees at Faith Lutheran Church. Garnetta was also a member of the HLMO Farm Council, a 4-H Club Leader and a Charter member of the Oak Harbor Lioness Club. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, needlework and traveled to all 50 states.

Surviving are her children, Cathy Ann Eames of Waterford, MI, Milton Jr. (Kimberly) of Centennial, CO, Michael A. (Kathy) of LeGrand, OR; 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy (Denver) Bergeman of Port Clinton, Virginia (Leon) Boucher of Hilliard, Matilda (Vincent) Hetrick of Fremont, Helen Harris of Green Springs, Donald (Phyllis) Sours of Green Springs, , and Patricia (Merle) Hummel of IL. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert, Edward, Richard, James & Denver Sours.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, July 16 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont.

Services will be held on Thursday, July 17 at 11 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church where there will be one hour of visitation prior to the service. Pastor Bob Young will officiate.

Burial will be at Faith Lutheran Cemetery following the service.

Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, Alzheimers Association, Lutheran Home Services or to a charity of the donors choice.
