Jack O. Hineline, 84, formerly of Lindsey and the Rutherford House, Fremont, died early Thursday morning at Bethesda Care Center, Fremont. He was born on June 14, 1922 in Lindsey to the now deceased Sherman and Mary C. (Sevitts) Hineline. Jack served in the U. S. Army during WWII earning a Purple Heart, WWII Victory Medal, European-African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with two Bronze Service Stars, Silver Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the American Theatre Ribbon. On April 9, 1944 he married Elizabeth Rust in Hessville. She died February 17, 2002. Jack was a postal carrier for the US Post Office for 30 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, serving on the Church Council, Fremont Post of the VFW, Disabled American Veterans, and the Rural Mail Carriers Assoc.
Surviving are sons, Kenneth (Suzette) of Fremont, Lawrence (Teresa) of Lindsey; daughter, Karen (Scott) Semer of Fremont; seven grandchildren, Eric Hineline, Shawn Hineline, Julie Brothers, Sara Ridener, Daniel Hineline, Aaron Semer and Eli Semer; six great grandchildren; and sister, Sydelle (Stetzel) Widman of Sandusky.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and an infant brother, Dale William Hineline.
Visitation will be on Saturday from 2 4 & 7 9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church with visitation at church one hour prior to the service. Pastor Robert Young will be officiating. Burial will follow at Faith Lutheran Cemetery.
