Dane Hofelich

Dane Herf Hofelich, age 38, of Gibsonburg died Tuesday evening, April 8, at the Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.

Herf was born in Fremont on August 6, 1969 to Christopher Dale Hofelich and Dawn (Damschroder) Burns. Raised by his mother, he graduated from Gibsonburg High School in 1987 and worked at Jim Dennis Construction and Excavating and also at the former Arbors Plastics both of Fremont. Herf was a member of the Fremont Eagles and loved both playing and watching Texas Holdem Poker Tournaments.

He is survived by his mother of Gibsonburg, step-parents Rex (Shelly) Burns of Helena, son Trevor Dane Hofelich and step sons Danny and Eric Kimmet all of Fremont, brother Dean A. (Barbara) of Reading, Massachusetts, aunt, Mary Torok and uncle Charley Damschroder both of Gibsonburg.

He is preceded in death by his sister Dina Burns and grandparents Charles and Florence Damschroder.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 12, 12:30 p.m., at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Gibsonburg with Rev. Fritz Merkes officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday, 3-8 p.m. and for one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday.

Burial will be at the Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery, Elmore.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Memorial Hospital, Trinity United Methodist Church in Gibsonburg or to the Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg.
