Edna Mae Hoffert, 75, of Clyde, died Tuesday morning at Firelands Regional Health Center, Sandusky, OH. She was born on June 14, 1931 in Fremont to the now-deceased Frank Gottlich and Florence May (Rufty) Rathfelder. Edna graduated from Ross High School. On December 19, 1976 she married Robert J. Hoffert at Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont and he survives. Edna was a homemaker and loving mother. She was a former member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont and current member of St. Marys Catholic Church, Sandusky. Surviving are children: Judith A. Widman, Dianne L. (Paul) Abbott-Lange, Christine M. Ysaguire, Ronald R. Widman, James R. Widman all of Fremont, David S. Widman, Tiffin and Jeffrey C. Widman of Huron: stepchildren, Richard J. (Eva) Hoffert of Fremont, Susan (Tony) Alejandero of Phoenix, AZ, Rebecca (Brian) Mouch of Williamsburg, OH, Kathleen Hoffert and Debra Hoffert both of Fremont; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; 17 step-grandchildren and 28 step-great-grandchildren; brothers, James, Ralph (Joyce), George (Nancy) all of Fremont, Irvin (Mary) Rathfelder of Green Springs and sister Joanne (Clifton) Smith of Fremont.
Preceding her in death are her parents, sister, Ruth Nighswander and brothers John and Clifford Rathfelder and stepson, Robert J. Hoffert II.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be on Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Deacon James Hammer will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to donors choice.
