Carl G. Hoffman, 74 of Gibsonburg died early Saturday, August 26, 2006 at Bethesda Care Center. Carl was born on August 29, 1931 in Fremont to Bernard & Cecelia (Hammer) Hoffman. He graduated from Jackson Burgoon High School in 1949 and on January 9, 1954 he married Arlene Meyer at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Fremont. Carl was an avid fisherman and loved hunting. He was a member of the NRA, the vice president of Rack & Cue Pool League for 18 years, he served during Peacetime from 1955-1957 in the US Army. Carl was a lifelong farmer retiring in 1994 and attended St. Michael Catholic Church, Gibsonburg. Surviving are children; Marcia Wiggins, Dawn (Douglas) Cronin, David (Laura Kleinhans) Hoffman, Douglas Hoffman, and Daniel (Laurie) Hoffman all of Fremont, along with 9 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his siblings; Catherine Lotycz of Fremont, Bernadine Esker of Columbus, Mary Lou (Wayne) Stults, Agnes (Dave) Peiffer all of Fremont and Lawrence (Marilyn) Hoffman of Fostoria, George Hoffman of Lindsey. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother; Cletus. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at St. Michael Catholic Church at 10 AM with Fr. Ted Miller officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery, Millersville. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Catholic Church.
