Christy W. Holland died early Saturday morning at the Valley View Health Care Center. He was born to the late George and Blanche Holland on August 3, 1921 in Marathon, OH. Christy attended Williamsburg High School where he graduated in 1940. He then went on to become a teacher at the Fremont Ross High School for 30 years and 10 years in Gibsonburg retiring in 1985. Christy married Amy Heimert on December 14, 1990 in LAs Vegas.
He was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, Fremont, United States Power Squadron, the OEAP, and the Retired Teachers Association. He was the owner of The Christy Studio. In his spare time he coached Fremont Ross soft ball, summer soft ball and enjoyed Sailing.
His previous wife Barbara Ann Heiser preceded him on June 21, 1987. He is survived by his wife Amy; Children Jeff Holland of Taylor, SC, David (Nanci) Holland of Cincinnati, OH, Paul Holland of Downingtown, PA, Mark (Dianne) Holland of Simpsonville, SC, Julie Thorpe of Bowling Green, OH; sister Helen Reynolds of Cincinnati, OH; brother Earl (Ruth) Holland of Punta Gorda, FL, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday July 9, 2008. Burial will be at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg following the funeral services. Memorial donations in Christys name may be made to the Fremont Ross Schools & Athletics.
