Fremont resident, Karl Franklin Hoover, 69 went to be with the Lord on Thursday Afternoon, July 29, 2010. He was born on September 14, 1940 in Lima, OH to X.F. and Veda (Miller) Hoover. Karl was a graduate of Lima Senior High School and also received an Associates Degree from Terra Community College in HVAC. On June 9, 1968, he married Jacquelyn Jackie Fulghum at Lookout Mountain, GA and she survives. Karl was a store keeper at Ohio Power, now AEP for thirty-five years, retiring in 1996. During that same time, he owned and operated Karl Hoover Home Appliance and HVAC Repair. Having a State of Ohio license, Karl was also a busy electrician. The latest project he completed was as recent as last April. He attended Grace Brethren Chapel in Fremont and his hobby was his work and helping other people. Karl was very involved with Boy Scouts of America, where he participated for over 40 years being a Troop Leader and going on camp outs where he served as a cook.
Also surviving Karl is a son, John Franklin (Brenda) Hoover of Wisconsin; a granddaughter, Katherine; surrogate grandchildren, Michael Lane & Reyna Guardiola; and his sister, Kay (Jim) Sanders of Marshall, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Robert Hoover, Marilyn Price and Jeanne Hoover.
Visitation will be on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services. A Celebration of His Life will be on Sunday at 4 p.m. at Grace Brethren Chapel with Pastor Keith Merriman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Brethren Chapel (GBC) Building Fund in Karls memory.
