Jerry F. Hunt, 78, of Fremont, died on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 4, 1932 in Fremont to Carroll P. and Ethel M. (Carnicom) Hunt. Jerry was a 1950 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. He served in the US Navy in Korea during the Korean War. On October 21, 1952 he married Barbara A. Beier in Angola, IN and she survives. Jerry worked at the Erie Ordinance Depot and also was a meat cutter at Hermans Grocery and Great Scot, retiring in 1999. He was a member of the VFW.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his children, Joanne Howell of Waynesville, OH, Michael (Julie) Hunt of Post Falls, Idaho, Linda (Richard) Claycomb, Judith (Gary) Horn and Sandra (Pete) Werling all of Fremont; sister, Carolyn Hamilton of Waco, TX; fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Eric Thomas Horn.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 18th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Karlovetz Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Certified Celebrant Maureen Pump officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by the American Legion and VFW posts.
