Dorothy Marie Ickes

Dorothy Marie Ickes, 74, of Gibsonburg died early Thursday morning, May 12, 2005 at her residence. She was born on November 26, 1930 in Oak Harbor, OH to Ray and Dorothy (Humbert) Cherry. Dorothy attended Ross High School and was a loving mother and wife. She married David Forest Ickes, Sr. on May 27th, 1947 in Greenup, KY and he died on November 18, 1991. Dorothy loved her family very much. Surviving Dorothy are children Sally (Robert) Jahna, Gibsonburg; Linda (Joel) Long, Toledo; Tom (Ruth) Ickes, Helena; John (Alice) Ickes, Hessville; Penny (Robert) Yingling, Gibsonburg; Marsha (Randy) Fritz, Clyde; Bill (Brenda) Ickes, Clyde; and Judy (Mike) Black, Gibsonburg; brother, David (Mary Lou) Cherry, Texas, daughter in law, Angie Ickes, Tn., 29 grandchildren and 57 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son David, brothers, Ruc Humbert, Donnie Cherry Sr., Ted Miarer; grandchildren, Helen Ickes and Kelly Kromer.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2005 from 6-9 p.m. and Sunday 2-4 & 6 9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 16, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dea Whaley of the Compassionate Ministries officiating. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg. Memorial Donations may be made to: Heartland Hospice or the Diabetes Association.
