Donald E. Jacobs, 80 died Saturday evening in Clearwater, FL. He was born on February 21, 1925 in Fremont to Carlton Ray and Verna Alnora (Garner) Jacobs. Donald attended Ross High School and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in Memphis, TN. On August 12, 1944 he married Eloise R. Klawitter and she survives. He was an independent truck driver and owned and operated his own business until his retirement in 1981. Donald was a member of the Moose, VFW, American Legion, Big 10 Shuffle and a former member of Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont. Surviving Donald are sons Ronald E. (Marianne) of Fremont and William (Sandra) of Anderson, SC, 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, brothers Norman of DeKalb, IL and Bernell of Bellevue and sister Doris Jardes Haubert, Fremont. Preceding Donald in death are his parents, and brother Milan Jacobs. Visitation will be on Friday from 1-3 & 6-9 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn- Karlovetz Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fremont. Services will be on Saturday, June 18 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.
