Anthony (Tony) J. Kasavage, Jr., 80, of Fremont, died on Sun., May 9th at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born on October 13, 1929 in Parnassus, PA to Anthony and Mary (Werbitsky) Kasavage Sr. Tony was a 1948 graduate of Arnold High School in PA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, serving during the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant. He retired as a coordinator at Chrysler Corporation. In 1952, he married Margaret Margie Schock in Washington, D.C. and she survives in Fremont. Tony was a retired member of the Maumee Fire Department as a Paramedic and Fireman. He was a member of St. Marys HN Society and a volunteer at OLTS in Oregon, OH. Tony loved fishing, traveling, golf, gardening, spending time with his grandchildren and time with the love of his life Margie.
Also surviving are children: Linda (Don) Carroll of Cincinnati, Phillip Kasavage of San Diego and Julee Kasavage of Fremont; daughter-in-law, Kathy Kasavage; grandchildren, John & Liz Carroll, Maggie and Anthony IV Kasavage; step-grandsons, Rory and Robbin Wickham; and sister, Rita (Larry) Shemanski. He is preceded in death by his parents, son Anthony J. III, sister Dudie Gross and brother Bill.
Visitation will be on Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Fremont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ken Lill officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Tiffin on Friday at 1:00 p.m. with military services rendered.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of NW Ohio in Perrysburg, Sacred Heart Church of Fremont or St. Marys Catholic Church in Millersville in Anthonys memory.
