Stephan James Kaseman, 14, of Gibsonburg, died on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo. He was born on February 11, 1994 in Toledo to Corinne Cori (Kaseman) Schumacher.
Stephan was working on plans for his dream house and loved doing experiments. He was an eighth grader at the Gibsonburg Middle School and was a member of the choir. Stephan was very interested in gemology and mineralogy; he loved gardening and traveling - he had been to Hawaii with his cousin and collected lava lamps. He also was very creative, enjoyed all music, especially the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Stephan was very adventurous and loved his dogs and cat, Yoda.
Surviving in addition to his mother, is step-father, Jerry Schumacher of Gibsonburg, half-brother, Jacob Thomas Stephens of Oak Harbor, step-brother, Daniel Irving Schumacher, step-sister, Kimberly Frances Schumacher both of Gibsonburg; grandparents, Kathy (Robert) Sweeney of Fremont, Thomas Kaseman of Gibsonburg, Ralph & Marge Schumacher of Westlake, OH; great-grandparents, Frances Hradek of Westlake, OH, Alice & Harold Kaseman of Gibsonburg, Clarabelle Garn of Gibsonburg. He is preceded in death by great-grandparents, Antone Hradek and James Garn.
Visitation will be on Sunday, April 27th from 4-6 p.m., Monday, April 28th from 12-2 & 6-8 p.m. at the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Services will be on Tuesday at Faith United Methodist Church at 1 p.m. with one hour of visitation at the church prior to the service. Rev. Jerel Jackson will officiate. Burial will follow at W. Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family.
