Earl O. Kepler 83, of Elmore, died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2011 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born on Aug. 24, 1927 to Michael and Eleanor (Hill) Kepler. Earl graduated from Ottawa Illinois High School before serving in the U.S. Navy at the end of WWII. He was a devoted husband to Virginia McCroskey for many years until her passing. Earl worked as a field agent for Pickands/ Mather Coal Services. He enjoyed hunting dabbled in auto mechanics. Earl was a member of the North-South Skirmish Assoc., Ohio Rifle & Pistol Assoc. NRA, and the Sandusky County Sportsmens Club.
Surviving are children, John (Kathy) Kepler of Graytown and Bradley (Diane) Kepler of Fremont; 4 grandchildren Peter, James, Thomas and John Jr.; sister, Verna Grey. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, wife and grand-daughter Sarah.
Services will be on Tuesday, Aug. 16th, 2011 at1 p.m. the Herman-Kinn-Veh Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Gibsonburg. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 12 noon. Burial will follow at Lake Twp. Cemetery, Millbury with military rites conducted by the American Legion and VFW posts. Memorial contributions may be made to Sandusky County Sportsmens Club.
